Romania: Individuals cannot produce and deliver electricity in the grid

Romania: Individuals cannot produce and deliver electricity in the grid

Informacion
Romania: Individuals cannot produce and deliver electricity in the grid The Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority – ANRE – will address the Parliament to change the fiscal code, because, now, individuals cannot produce and deliver energy in the grid. The Romanian fiscal code does not include a model for taxation of the small energy producers, so the Ministry of Finance has not identified how this activity can be taxed, ANRE Vice President, ANRE, Zoltan Nagy -Bege, in a public debate on a draft of ordinance on the price of energy produced by natural persons in renewable power plants below 100 kW. He reminded that Law 220/2008 on the Promotion of Renewable Energy stipulates that “natural persons who own electricity production units from renewable sources with installed power below 100 kW on the…

Regional Strategy Draw the Guide Principles for Sustainable HPP in the WBs by Dr Lorenc Gordani

Regional Strategy Draw the Guide Principles for Sustainable HPP in the WBs by Dr Lorenc Gordani

Informacion
Regional Strategy Draw the Guide Principles for Sustainable HPP in the WBs Prepared by Dr Lorenc Gordani Western Balkans region needs new sources of energy production. In the context of replacing carbon-intensive generation capacity, and in view of achieving the 2020 renewable energy targets established by the Western Balkans countries in their respective National Renewable Energy Action Plans as part of the obligations agreed under the Energy Community Treaty, all renewable energy sources will play a strategic role in the new energy mix. Hydropower is a relatively clean energy, mostly free of CO2 emissions during operation. However, it can have large, negative impacts on the environment and, in particular, on water resources, the ecological quality of the rivers and the associated ecosystems and biodiversity. In view of the considerable challenges…

Secretariat publishes policy guidelines on grid integration of prosumers

Secretariat publishes policy guidelines on grid integration of prosumers

Informacion
Secretariat publishes policy guidelines on grid integration of prosumers  8 February 2018 Renewable energy technologies are transforming the way we produce and use energy. The share of distributed energy sources is rapidly increasing, thereby requiring all stakeholders to revisit the approach to network planning and operation of the electricity system. Due to increasing retail electricity prices and decreasing technology costs, distributed generation is becoming more and more attractive for consumers, which can now choose to produce part of the electricity for their own needs instead of purchasing it from a supplier. Moreover, self-consumption is an additional tool to meet renewable energy targets, reduce network losses and peak loads, increase energy efficiency, improve demand response and contribute to CO2 emissions reduction. Nevertheless, most countries lack comprehensive legislation in relation to small…

Increasing the sustainable use of biomass could bring significant benefits to the Western Balkans

Increasing the sustainable use of biomass could bring significant benefits to the Western Balkans

Informacion
Increasing the sustainable use of biomass could bring significant benefits to the Western Balkans 7 February 2018 Increasing the sustainable and efficient use of biomass could enhance energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution in the Western Balkans, whilst helping the countries to meet their 2020 renewable energy targets cost-effectively. Yet, significant financing needs to be mobilized to exploit the economic opportunities to increase biomass use and make existing use more efficient, concludes a study published by the World Bank in collaboration with the Energy Community Secretariat, and financed by the EU through the Western Balkans Investment Framework. The study on biomass-based heating in the Western Balkans identifies viable investment options and policy measures to increase the use of biomass for heating in a sustainable manner. A…

Fronius offers a new energy package with storage

Informacion
Fronius offers a new energy package with storage 2/8/18, 8:00 AM - In 2018 Fronius Solar Energy will be launching a new energy package including an inverter, the Fronius Checkbox and a storage unit from LG. Fronius Fronius is building a pilot system in which green hydrogen will be generated from solar energy. The Fronius Ohmpilot consumption regulator for hot water preparation is a first step into the Fronius world of storage units. This intelligent energy management solution uses surplus energy to activate and coordinate consumers such as heating elements, heat pumps or infra-red heaters. To make storing solar energy even easier, Fronius will be offering its energy package in combination with the LG Chem RESU 7H and LG Chem RESU 10H battery as of this spring. Already successfully established…

Improve of the business clime for development of sustainable sector by Dr Lorenc Gordani The energy system today is on continue evolution and Albania with its high natural renewable potential, have a golden opportunity at least to halt the continued growth of the imports of the electricity – means CO2 from old coal central of region. Further as the cost of renewable energy technologies declines continue, this will enable not only becoming independent but also helping to modernise all the structure of our economy. An above as foreseen by Western Balkan Sustainability Charter, agreed at Paris Summit on 4 July 2016 the establishing of national indicative roadmaps for implementing measures required will increase investor confidence in sustainable energy markets. This should been done as soon as possible not to affect…

New ultra-light solar module: OPES Solutions reduces module weight by two thirds

New ultra-light solar module: OPES Solutions reduces module weight by two thirds

Informacion
New ultra-light solar module: OPES Solutions reduces module weight by two thirds 2/5/18 Joint development with Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSPBerlin - OPES Solutions, a leading supplier of off-grid solar modules for grid independent power supply, has developed an ultra-light solar module together with the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP. While conventional crystalline solar modules weigh around 60 grams per watt, O-Lite Plus modules weigh only about 20 grams per watt. This corresponds to a weight reduction of two thirds. The costs of the new frameless module in series production are on a par with those of conventional modules. The module backside made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) on which mono or polycrystalline solar cells are laminated is largely responsible for the weight reduction. The tried-and-tested material is also…
