Laying the ground for energy alternatives, Published by LEDS-EEP, on July 17, 2017 On July 10-11, 2017, Kyiv welcomed a contingent of 15 LEDS-EEP members from Albania, Georgia, Moldova and different parts of Ukraine. They joined other 40 energy planning practitioners and energy-modelling experts from Ukrainian municipalities, associations and international institutions to participate in the “Workshop on Tools and Methodologies for Municipal Sustainable Energy Planning”. The capacity-building event was organised by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) and the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of Ukraine (IEF) in the framework of the REC project “Local Initiatives for Sustainable Ukraine (LINK)”, which is supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment. Albania's power distributor OSHEE cuts grid losses in Jan-July, SeeNews, 22 August 2017 Power Distribution South / All rights reserved TIRANA (Albania), August 22 (SeeNews) - Losses in Albania's power distribution network were reduced to 28.1% in the first seven months of 2017 from 28.6% in the comparative year-ago period, the country's state-owned Electricity Power Distribution Operator (OSHEE) said. The power distributor collected 37.1 billion leks ($330.1 million/280.6 million euro) from electricity bills in January-July, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, OSHEE said in a statement on Monday. The total amount of sold electricity rose by 2.9% on the year, as a result of the more intensive field controls, OSHEE said.
