On 16 Mar 2017 the ECS published the first issue of Energy Community Connected – News across the Energy Community Region. This new initiative is designed to provide up-to-date information and analysis of energy issues with high relevance for both the Energy Community Contracting Parties and EU Member States.

The geographical focus of this newsletter reflects Title III of the Energy Community Treaty, under which the Energy Community may take measures to create a single energy market. This Title covers the eight Energy Community Contracting Parties – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine – and eight neighbouring EU Member States – Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

The first issue provides an insight into the latest developments in the energy sector reforms in Ukraine and looks into cross-border infrastructure projects and other initiatives relevant for market integration in South Eastern Europe and beyond.
