First Solar’s PlantPredict: a solar energy modelling tool, PV Europe, 3 January 2018 PlantPredict from First Solar reduces uncertainty to generate more accurate energy predictions for utility scale PV plants. First Solar added a new 3-D DC Field visualization tool. PlantPredict from First Solar is designed to develop energy estimates applications. The Version 5 was released in November 2017 and includes several new features. Most notable of the new features is batch processing capability, which allows users to run up to 350 predictions at once while varying DC/AC, azimuth, tilt angle or GCR between runs. First Solar also released a publicly available international data source from NASA-SSE. PlantPredict offers users the option to import plane-of-array irradiance (POAI) in weather files. This is a tool for users who have measured or…

Netherlands allocates €147 million in fiscal incentives for enterprises investing in solar and renewables, source by PV Magazine The Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) is a fiscal measure that offers the possibility for an additional allowance on taxable profit. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has announced that it has allocated €147 million in fiscal incentives for enterprises adopting clean energy solutions in the frame of the Energy Investment Allowance (Energie Investeringaftrek – EIA) program. Under the scheme, which is managed by the Dutch Ministry of Economy and Finance, companies make investments in energy efficient technologies and renewable energy can pay a lower income/corporation tax. The deduction rate of the program for this year is 54.5%, while the net EIA benefit is usually around 13.5% of the investment costs. Applications for the…

Albania boost pilot projects and plans on energy efficiency by Dr Lorenc Gordani, 2nd January 2018

Researches
Albania boost pilot projects and plans on energy efficiency, by Dr Lorenc Gordani, 2nd January 2018 The efficiency sector has seen in the last period the signed of a grant agreement by 6.5m euros among Albanian and German public authorities, while it is already working in the implementing a project worth 9m euros for the renovation of university campus of Tirana. Saving energy through improving efficiency is one of the key components promoted by German government in Albania, bringing thought the KfW an investments package at 15m euros. Projects that are seen to be extend in ongoing to all the government buildings. Actually, the energy intensity in Albania, similar to other WBs economies, is very high compared to the average of the EU. The country remain 3 times more energy…

GoodWe’s ES Series: inverter for bidirectional energy storage, source by PV Europe, 2 January 2018

Informacion
GoodWe’s ES Series: inverter for bidirectional energy storage, source by PV Europe, 2 January 2018 The GoodWe ES series bidirectional energy storage inverter is applicable with both on-grid and off-grid PV systems. The battery inverter also controls the flow of energy. The bidirectional energy storage inverter from GoodWe can control the flow of energy intelligently. During daytime, the PV plant generates electricity which can be provided to the loads, fed into the grid or charge the battery. The electricity stored can be released when the loads require it during the night. Additionally, the power grid can also charge the storage devices via the inverter.
