On Monday the mission will hold its Italy-Albania Business Forum, with the participation of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. The mission was organised by Italian employers' group Confindustria, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency (ICE), the Italian Banking Association (ABI), the Alliance of Cooperatives, the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the Italian Business Network, and the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce (Unioncamere), and is being promoted by the Italian Industry Ministry and the Italian Foreign Ministry. TAP pipes welded along 80% of route in Albania, Greece Pipes for construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) have been welded along more than 80 percent of the pipeline’s route in Albania and Greece, states a message from TAP AG consortium. “TAP pipes are welded above ground. All welds are subject to automatic testing, to ensure they meet national and international standards. Pipes along more than 80 percent of our route in Greece and Albania (over 615km out of 765km) are now welded,” reads the press release. TAP, worth 4.5 billion euros, is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which is one of the priority energy projects for the European Union. EIB approves €6.5bn for new energy and transport projects Feb 12, 2018 Jonny Bairstow The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a total of €6.5 billion (£5.8bn) of new financing for 36 projects across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Around €1.5 billion (£1.3bn) will be spent financing for Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, which is planned to cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea before coming ashore in Southern Italy to connect to the Italian natural gas network. The project is part of the Southern Gas Corridor, an initiative identified as a strategically important component within the EU’s energy policy.
