OSHEE announces new purchases as amount spent for 2017 is slated to exceed 100m euros, SCAN, 26 October 2017

The Electricity Distribution Operator plans to buy 270,000 MWh of electricity in November, thus significantly increasing its demand in comparison to October.

According to an announcement, the purchase will be made in two lots, divided according to the time of delivery.

For October, OSHEE spent about 6.1m euros, while for the last 5 days of the month, a second purchase of 29. 600 MWh was needed, thus increasing costs even more.

In parallel with the opening of this purchase procedure, during October the company secured three bids with the aim of optimizing and providing energy at the most competitive prices.

Confirmation of these bids will be made during the respective month, depending on the hydropower situation and KESH production opportunities as well as international energy prices.

As a result of the prolonged drought, OSHEE purchased about 86 million Euros of energy for the period July-October.

Meanwhile, with the purchases of November the amount spent is expected to exceed 100m euros.
