Italian Snam, Albanian Albgaz link MoU on gas market development, Trend, 01rst August 2017 Italian gas infrastructure company Snam and Albania’s gas infrastructure operator Albgaz have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop collaboration opportunities, the Snam website reported on July 31. The MoU is aimed at supporting the start and development of an infrastructure system that will be managed by the Albanian company. The agreement comes in relation to the gas market development that will start with the TAP pipeline crossing Albania. TAP is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which is one of the priority energy projects for the European Union. Spitalla’s Free Economic Zone to be developed by merger of three companies, Scan, 01rst July 2017 The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship has announced the winner of the bid for the construction, development and maintenance of the free economic zone in Spitallë, Durres. A press release, published on the website of the Public Procurement Agency, announces that the winner is the temporary merger of three operators: Pelikan, The Best Construction and Vellezerit Hysa. Their bid was rated at 71.2 points, leaving behind Edil-Al-IT’s bid, which achieved 70.6 points. The launch of the tenders is intended for end August/beginning September 2017 and will follow an “open procedure” as defined by Austrian public procurement law.
