Ministers of energy and climate agree on joint action at informal Ministerial meeting, Ecs, 12th June 2017 The first joint meeting of ministers responsible for energy and environmental/climate policy took place on 9-10 June 2017. The ministers discussed the best ways to contribute towards a low-carbon transition of the Energy Community region and endorsed the establishment of an Energy Community Climate Action Group composed of ministries responsible for energy and climate on the level of ministers or deputy ministers. The Group will convene twice per year and focus on integrated energy and climate planning in the Contracting Parties, to be coordinated also at the regional level. Procurement procedures for HPPs contracts in Montenegro, Dr Lorenc Gordani, 19th June 2017 Montenegro has rather high natural hydropower potential and accordingly a significant number of hydropower generation projects in the pipeline. The state has quite limited potential to develop projects on its own. The generation incumbent EPCG also does not have any plans to develop new large HPPs. There are potentially two procedures for developing electricity generation objects in Montenegro. The Law on Energy provides for the authorisation procedure and a public tendering procedure. The authorisation procedure is only possible for electricity generation facilities not exceeding 1 MW of installed capacity.
